- Free needs no card. The 10 monthly credits start the month after you sign up, arrive on the 1st (UTC) and are used first.
- A yearly plan gives the whole year's credits at the start of each plan year.
- Plan credits don't carry over: any left at the end of the month, or of the year on a yearly plan, expire.
- Every plan can use the web app, the REST API (https://spoolfield.com/developers/api) and AI apps over MCP (https://mcp.spoolfield.com/mcp).

## Top-up credits

- 100 credits: $9.99
- 500 credits: $39.99
- 1,500 credits: $99.99

Top-up credits never expire and are used only after plan credits run out. Buying and using them needs an active paid plan.

## What a job costs

1 credit is about 1 minute of video:

- Speech to text: 1 credit per minute of audio. Used by transcripts, captions and finding moments by topic. Free again for the same video while its files are kept.
- Shorts, captions, Source packs: 1 credit per minute of video you get back.
- Save, trim, convert, reshape, shrink: 1 credit per 5 minutes of video.
- Free: the prompt box, Trending, looking up a link and checking the balance.

Part of a minute counts as a full minute, and every paid job uses at least 1 credit.

Examples:

- 3 Shorts of 30 seconds each about one topic, from a 60-minute podcast: 60 credits to turn the speech into text + 3 credits for the clips = 63 credits
- The sound of a 20-minute video as MP3: 4 credits

## Before and after a job

- Every job shows its price before it starts, in the web app, the API and AI apps. Nothing runs until the user agrees.
- The price shown is the most the job can use. It uses only what it actually made.
- Jobs that fail, or that the user cancels, cost nothing.
