Fit a video under 10 MB in 3 steps
- Open Spoolfield, switch to Convert files and drop your video in, or click Choose files.
- Choose MP4. Under File size, pick 10 MB (Discord). For another limit, pick Custom and type the size in MB.
- Click Convert. The smaller copy is saved to your Spoolfield folder, ready to drag into Discord.
How Spoolfield hits the size
Worked out, then checked
Spoolfield works out a bitrate from the video’s length, lowers the resolution when that looks better at that bitrate, and encodes in two passes so the file lands close to the target. Then it checks the real size and tries again if it’s still over.
No squeezing when it fits
If a normal conversion already comes in under the limit, Spoolfield keeps that, so you don’t lose quality for nothing.

Questions
Why does my video look softer after compressing?
A long video squeezed into 10 MB gets very few bits per second, so detail goes first. Shorter clips look much better at the same size. Spoolfield doesn’t trim videos, so cut a long one down in an editor first if you need it sharper.
What if the video can’t fit in 10 MB?
Spoolfield tells you it can’t fit the file in that size instead of handing you an unwatchable copy. Choose a bigger size, or use a shorter clip.
Can I shrink images and audio too?
Yes. File size works for images (JPG, PNG or WebP) and for MP3 and M4A audio. It isn’t offered for WAV, which is never compressed.
Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. Spoolfield converts files on your PC and saves the copy next to your other Spoolfield files. Your original stays exactly as it was.
