Video to MP3, from your own videos and recordings

Keep only the sound of a video you made: a talk you filmed, a podcast you record on camera, a clip from your own page. Upload the file or paste its link, choose MP3, and Spoolfield sends back an audio file that plays in any player. It all happens in the browser, so there’s no converter to install.

The Free plan begins with 15 credits, no card asked. Convert only recordings you own, are licensed to reuse, or have permission to use.

Turn a video into MP3 in 3 steps

  1. Under Your video, choose Upload and drop in the file, or choose Link, paste the address of a video you posted and click Add.
  2. Under Tool, choose Convert, then MP3 under Format. To keep one part only, fill in From (optional) and To (optional), like 12:30 and 18:05.
  3. The price appears in the bar at the bottom; press Run when you’re happy with it. When the job is ready under Your jobs, press Save to download the MP3.

Made for the sound of your own videos

  • Video formats in, sound out

Whatever your camera, phone or screen recorder saved, MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM, goes in. Only the sound comes back.

  • Just the part you need

Type a start and an end time to pull one answer out of an interview or the intro from a talk. You get that stretch alone.

  • Long recordings welcome

Videos can run up to 3 hours, and you can upload files of up to 500 MB on Free, 2 GB on Starter or 5 GB on Creator.

  • Priced by length

Converting uses 1 credit for every 5 minutes, so the sound of an hour-long recording costs 12 credits. Trim it first and you pay for the trimmed part only.

Questions

Can I use a link instead of uploading the file?

Yes, for a video you own or have permission to use. Paste the public link to the post and Spoolfield fetches it on its servers. Private, members-only and sign-in-only videos can’t be fetched, so upload those as files.

Should I pick MP3, M4A or WAV?

MP3 is the format most people expect when you send them audio. M4A also plays in any player. WAV is lossless and much larger, which suits recordings you’re going to edit further.

Can I turn songs or music videos into MP3?

Only music you own or have permission to use. Spoolfield is for the sound of your own videos and clips you’re allowed to reuse, and it doesn’t remove DRM. If the music in a video belongs to someone else, ask them first.

Can I make the MP3 smaller?

Yes. Under Shrink to fit, pick a size such as 10, 16 or 25 MB, and Spoolfield lowers the quality only as much as it needs to. A very long recording may not fit in the smallest sizes.
